A global client is seeking a Senior Associate or Senior Counsel with a minimum of 6+ years of experience to support its Trial & Defense practice, focusing on liability defense and coverage litigation. The practice spans high-exposure matters, including catastrophic injury, bodily injury, wrongful death, commercial litigation, premises liability, bad faith and fraud, UM/UIM, class actions, and trucking and transportation matters.
The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation and trial experience, along with a proactive, motivated, and organized approach. This individual should possess excellent oral advocacy, research, and writing skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload of approximately 20 matters
• Investigate claims and develop case handling strategies
• Draft, respond to, and manage discovery
• Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, treating providers, and experts
• Draft and argue motions
• Prepare cases for mediation and trial, including pre-trial filings
• Participate in mediations and trials
• Provide clear, consistent reporting to clients
Qualifications
• Licensed to practice in Illinois
• Minimum of 6+ years of litigation experience
• Strong oral advocacy and motion practice experience
• Excellent legal writing and strategic thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
